I just received and update this morning. Things are going very well in India! Alan said things look great for the conference, very professionally done, lots of banners hanging, booklets were passed out, gifts and bags were given to the women, etc. This is the end of day two there. There were 526 women who showed up for the conference!! Praise the Lord! They were only expecting 400, so this was an overwhelming response. One hundred of the women were from the local area, so the rest came from surrounding places which means they had nowhere to stay at night. Thankfully the grounds that the church is on is large and they set up tents for the women to sleep in. Alan said the weather has been nice and cool there, so that helps. Our team is doing very well. They all had dinner together (including the women at the conference), so that wrapped up things for the day! Tonight (tomorrow in India) they will have church service together. Alan will preach, they will have lunch and then do a wrap-up session for the conference to conclude the events. Monday they leave for Agra to see the Taj Mahal and some other sights, then they make their way to Delhi to fly back.
Alan and some other men have been to another area in India where so much persecution has happened in these last months. Literally thousands of people have fled to escape death because of their faith. Alan said it is a horrific sight and he heard many of their testimonies. They are just devastating….the things these people have experienced are unimaginable. They met with 700 people and Alan preached, they gave them all food to take with them, blankets, and saris (not sure how to spell this).
Keep praying daily for this team. I’m sure each one of them has been stretched beyond belief in so many ways. They will all come home changed women and unbelievably blessed!
